Which graphics card should i get?

Hi, i have a slow computer, 1.7ghz with 768ram and a geforce4 mx. I want to upgrade, hoping that a newer video card would compensate for my slow computer. I want to play newer games than i currently can, should i get a radeon 9550 or a sapphire x1550? the sapphire is about $5 more

Neither , there both very old. I would recommend a new computer if you want to play new games . You need much more ram and a better cpu as well as a new video card.

Re: Which graphics card should i get?

Really neither , both are very old. The 9 series doesn't support newer games and the x1550 is just flat out slow. Your going to need more ram too , the ram in your pc is pretty low for newer games and you should have at least 1gb.

If this is an agp system I would get a 2600 pro.

Also whats the make and model of the motherboard? we'll see if you can upgrade your cpu and ram for cheap. Sometimes , a new cpu for older systems are only 30$ and are twice the speed. And we can find cheap ram too.

Re: Which graphics card should i get?

Yea definitely update the ram on the pc to 2 gb if you can. It supports pc2700 , theese would be good

That with the 2600pro and a better cpu should give good ps2 style graphics.
