[SOLVED] Graphic card speed
My god my head hurts, can anyone please tell me if the speed of a graphic card is relevent to the bus/cache speed of the motherboard, in the same way RAM would be. Iv got a bit of a dated pc and wanna upgrade, its 333Hz wich would mean buying PC2700 RAM but i really cant work out if the graphic card needs to match this.

Re: Graphic card speed
Nice one Hawman, so i can install a graphic card with a clock speed of 400Hz or higher even though my pc is a 333Hz machine. If u get my meaning i might be getting this all wrong im not too clued up, im assuming that the clock speed is the speed that all the components on the motherboard (sound card, graphic card, RAM, ect) comunicate at and therefore they all need to match. One last silly question whats the PSU and where is it in the pc. Thank you.

Yes you can ![]() The PSU is the power supply unit and is usually found at the top / bottom rear of the case (inside). It looks like a small "Box" ( See google for some images ). |
