PCI-e compatibility issues ?

Hello,
As I read in this forum I saw on some topic that PCI-e 1.0 is not compatible with 8800GT (G92).
My motherboard is ASUS P5KR, and I do not know what PCI-e revision has my 16x video-card-slot.

Can anybody tell me if there are incompatibilitie between my card and motherboard ?

Thanks in advance

Re: PCI-e compatibility issues ?

The best way to check if your motherboard supports the newer cards is to check for a bios update that specificaly states compatibility for the card.

Re: PCI-e compatibility issues ?

The latest BIOS version is 0605, and it doesn't say anything about any compatibility or incompatibility between PCI-e 16x and any PCI-e 2.0 video card.
Take me for example, I didn't even imagine that such thing was even possible.

Re: PCI-e compatibility issues ?

The ASUS P5KR runs on the Intel P35 chipset and should be a PCI-E 1.1 board, so an 8800GT will be fine.
