Need help fps problems
Hey guys any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Ive done about everything I can think of to fix this problem outside of spending money.
System specs: Pentium(R) Dual CPU 3.00ghz 2gb of ram Radeon x1900xtx video card *not crossfired* Windows XP *if you need any other info please ask* I know the video card is a little older but for the game Im playing *world of warcraft* the system specs blow away whats recommended for the game. I can hit up into the 150-200fps range on the game when no action is on the screen but the moment something comes into my view it drops to 10-15fps. Ive thought about overheating and checked what everything was running at and the vid card is about 50 degrees celcius. And the cpu under load is about 70 degrees celcius. So I turned the AC to about 60 degrees to decrease room temperature and still no help. I used to be able to run the game on high settings and do perfectly fine... now with everything on low I get the same fps I get when I put it on high, which I find very strange. Ive tried disk cleanup, defragging, formatting, updating all my drivers for sound card, video card, flashed my bios. Im really getting to the end of my rope. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thank you Autoaim |

Re: Need help fps problems
Welcome to tsf. I told someone else this recently , DON'T BASE VIDEO CARD OR PC PERFORMANCE ON WoW! WoW is on online game that frequently lags alot due to it being only an online game. The problem is most likely your internet connection. Do you play any other games beside wow that are effected? Any non online games?

Re: Need help fps problems
Your CPU running 70C under load is high. Try reapplying the thermal paste: http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...structions.htm
