geforce 9800 gtx help

hi there, ive kinda stuck upon something that disturbs me little

"One vacant add-in card slot below the PCI Express® x16 slot. This graphics card physically occupies two slots"

does this mean to use a 9800 gtx you need 2 pci x16 slots? or does it mean that its so big you couldnt fit 2 9800's in 2 slots?

please help!

Re: geforce 9800 gtx help

It means it takes up two bays on the back of the machine, it only uses one pci-e slot. The cooler on the card is so big it needs two slots. The majority of high end video cards have these now a days.

Re: geforce 9800 gtx help

You need to have a single PCI-E X16 slot and a beefy power supply capable of 26A output on the +12V rail.

Re: geforce 9800 gtx help

thank you! atm i have a 500watt psu,

i dont even know if it has 2 pci 6's to connect the card, so i probably buy another psu anyway

how much would a 26A output on the +12V rail cost me? can you give me some examples of some good quality psu's that fit this critera?

Re: geforce 9800 gtx help

These are good , you'll definitely need 600w. All are good quality and have two 6 pin connectors.
