[SOLVED] 7600GS Screen going black on xp restart
A while ago I posted my system specs on here and I was suggested to get a 7600 gs. Well I bought it off Newegg and installed it successfully and cleaned out the ATI drivers with driver cleaner and installed NVidia drivers and restarted and everything ran fine, and I could run WoW on max settings with no lag. I am on a Dell Dimension 8400 with a 350W PSU. Well I decided to restart my computer, upon doing that I get to the xp logon screen, I logon and the taskbar shows up then I see some weird graphics corruption and the screen goes black. I am currently in Safe Mode with Networking, so im doubting hardware but why is my computer doing this? I upgraded from an ATI X300 which has the same wattage as this new card.

Re: 7600GS Screen going black on xp restart
minimum power requirements on the 12v+ line for
agp=18amps pcie=26amps reinstall the drivers if your psu is supplying enough power which i doubt in the device manager uninstall the card reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode when windows finishes rebooting disable a/virus install your drivers reboot the computer

Re: 7600GS Screen going black on xp restart
Yes I found out that is was probably due to me messing around with the settings in the control panel of NVidia because it doesn't revert the settings if you make a mistake so you have to reinstall the driver. Now it works and I won't go around messing with setting again. :P
