Roll Eyes Radeon Xpress1150 conflict with DirectX9

I have a HPCompaq nx6325 laptop, 2G RAM XPSP2, and as standard is installed with InterVideo WinDVD which plays back all DVD etc.

I also play Silent Hunter 3 which played fine. However I think I made a huge mistake in installing Microsoft DirectX9.

Now I cannot play back DVDs from the DVD player, though I can play them if I download the files to my harddrive. Also, SilentHunter has an intro "movie" which now judders/breaks up/jumps about/ doesn't work (though this isn't too much of a problem as the game runs OK once through the intro).

I uninstalled ATI Catalyst Control Center software and drivers and installed ATI Catalyst Control Center 2008-0328-2322.39969

Still I cannot play back from DVD. I can read data discs and install OK from the DVD drive so the drive is OK.

Any advice, I know the Radeon Xpress1150 is limited but SH3 and WinDVD played great before I installed DirectX9

Re: Radeon Xpress1150 conflict with DirectX9

Do a system restore to a point before you made any changes to the pc.
