Can't output to correct resolution for TV
Hey guys, I just got a DVI -> HDMI cable and wireless network PCI adapter off of newegg, hooked my computer up to my 42" wide screen plasma, and I none of the available resolutions via right click -> properties -> settings or via the nVidia control panel "fit" to the TV properly. I noticed that there were only like 4 to 6, I can't really remember, available selections when I had it hooked up to the TV, yet there are probably 20 or so when I have it hooked up to my 19" monitor(s).
I'm running an EVGA GeForce 8800GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, -I'mThatGuy |

Re: Can't output to correct resolution for TV
Also, it is worth noting that I am using Omega Drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/) and the problem isn't that I'm getting black bars, it's that on every possibly resolution (all 4-6 of them, I can't remember) it is cut off. I would rather have black bars than having it cut off on the side and/or bottom. =\

Re: Can't output to correct resolution for TV
Ok, so I've tried setting it to the native TV resolution, didn't work.
I set it to 1 lower than the native resolution (1600x900) and set in the nVidia control panel to NOT SCALE, and now i have two-or-so-inch black bars on all four sides... Every other scaling option changes it so that it's off the screen on all four sides, on every resolution. Oh well, I called up Panasonic to see if they could help, and they were kinda helpful, but they new about the TV, not the computer. xD I'll contact nVidia later and if I find out anything useful, I'll post it. Thanks for your assistance, Me! |

Re: Can't output to correct resolution for TV
Is this TV 1080p native or something lower like 1366x768?
I have a DVI-> HDMI cable being used on my girlfriend's PC which is giving us 1080p on my 57" DLP. I also needed to adjust the overscan with the utility I've attached. It'll let you expand or reduce the resolution to best fit your screen. Give it a try!
