Upgrade Acer 7700GX
Hi Guys,
It was my birthday yesterday and i had a brand new 22" Samsung 2ms Screen I'm looking to upgrade my computer since i can't afford a new one, and the best possible upgrade for me is a new graphics card. The one i'm running atm is a intel 128 express chip set. Which isnt a dedicated chip. Atm I have: The Acer Veriton 7700GX , Intel® 915G chipset with PCI-Express integrated graphics system. CPU Speed: 2925 MHz. Maximum Memory Capacity: 4096 MB Currently Installed Memory: 1024 MB Available Memory Slots: N.A. Number of Banks: 4 Dual Channel Support: N.A. CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel CPU Family: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.93GHz Model 4, Stepping 1 CPU Speed: 2925 MHz I have been suggested to get Nivida GeForce 8800 GT But after reading the spec for this it seems my Pc won't run it due to the fact i only have 300w Psu I was just wondering wether anyone could point me in the right direction of a website that will show me compatible dedicated graphics cards or suggest one i should try? Im looking to spend 100, possibly £150 This is my first post so any help will be greatly appreciated :) |

Re: Upgrade Acer 7700GX
Welcome to tsf. Thats an interesting card , never heard of a 7700 before. To tell you the truth , theres nothing you could really upgrade to that would be faster then that, that would work on a 300W power supply, thats probably the highest you could go before you had to upgrade the psu as well. The only real thing you could change to is an equally powerull dx10 card which would perform the same but just have directx 10.
