Monitor Powers Down
I just built a new PC and this is a new problem for me...
I've ported my old HD so I'm running Windows XP service pack 2, an MB Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H 690G RTL mother board, AMD -A64 X2 4000+ 2.1G CPU, & G Skill 1Gig x2 memory. The PC powers up fine, but when I connect the monitor it enters stand by. I have tried other monitors so that is not the problem. I've powered it back down, removed the battery and tried again to no avail. I even tried connecting the S-video to my TV to see if that would help. I have also tired using both the DVI and VGA (each independently of course), and I still have the same problem. I don't think I can simply install a video card because I can't install drivers without visuals, and the PC's Bios isn't set up yet anyway. HELP!!! Any thoughts? |
