COD4 video card error...

I have an HP a6010n computer and bought COD4 for it. After I installed it and tried to play it, it said...

----- Initializing Renderer ----
----- Client Initialization Complete -----
Attempting 44 kHz 16 bit [Windows default] sound
----- R_Init -----
Getting Direct3D 9 interface...
Pixel shader version is 2.0
Vertex shader version is 0.0
Video card or driver doesn't support fullscreen gamma.
Video card or driver doesn't accelerate transform and lighting.
Video card or driver doesn't support UBYTE4N vertex data.

Error during initialization:
Video card or driver doesn't support UBYTE4N vertex data.

Can my computer run COD4? If so, what video card should I get and how much will it cost?
What I've read so far is that Intel video cards are worthless.
I don't want to pay too much for a video card but I would like the graphics to be good. I would also like to know how much the power supply would cost.

<THANKS TO ANYONE THAT HELPS>

Re: Question about running COD4

Welcome to tsf. Indeed this is a common problem here and yes you card isn't powerful enough. Please post your maximum budget for a new video card. Lucky for you your pc has a pci-e slot in it to upgrade the video.

Re: Question about running COD4

I would say just a nice 8600 or maybe a 3650 or something along those lines. To keep him from having to do the psu too.

Re: Question about running COD4

So if I buy the video card in the link you provided I wouldn't have to buy another power supply? and would the graphics be pretty good?

Re: Question about running COD4

You should be able to get by as the card uses less power then the ddr2 models that are cheaper, and only requires a molex connector and no 6 pin connector. And yea you should get good graphics out of it. Obviously you would get better performance from a more expensive card but then you need a psu and it would get up there in price.

Re: Question about running COD4

Dang thats low, I was expecting a 350w which would have been ok but 250w is pretty low down there. Your gonna need a 350 or 400w watt to do that card , or else you'll need to look at real low end cards.

Re: Question about running COD4

Since I'm going to have to buy another psu, which video card will work better for COD4? The one you recommended or this one? http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3680417&CatId=3614

Re: Question about running COD4

The 8800GS is a better card, but for only a little more, if you can stretch it go for a GT>

That gs didn't look bad for only 100$ , the gt looks like its twice as much.

Re: Question about running COD4

Yeah the gt looks a bit pricey for me, do you think I should get the 8800 gs 384mb or 8600 gt 512mb? CompUsa has the same website as tigerdirect I think. I'm going to run up to CompUsa this week maybe.
~Thanks for the help

Re: Question about running COD4

For 100$ that 8800 gs 384mb is better then the 8600 and its the same price , sounds good to me, but remember that that card uses even more power so you'll need a good 500W for that. These would be pretty good to go with it. I really wouldn't go any cheaper on the psu.

Okay... sorry this is my last question about video cards hopefully heh
Is this one better than the other cards mentioned? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2900232&CatId=2669
