GIGABYTE GeForce 8600GT NWN lagging problem
Hello. I have recently purchased and installed a GIGABYTE NViDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card with 512MB of graphics. With the card installed my computer is well above the system requirements of Neverwinter Nights. When I got my computer back, the first time I played Neverwinter Nights after the installment, it lagged more, in different areas. e.g. When a robe was present in the camera as well as clocks and bows in the 1.68 patch. I tried turning down the graphics but it made no difference. Eventually I found a setting in the NViDIA control panel called "Extension Limit" which I turned on. It stopped the lagging (but not completely) at the cost of all the textures of the tile sets to go low textureish. Well I was, in a way relieved until I played a CEP module. Most of the textures of the custom content was missing. I turned off the Extension limit to see if there was a difference and there was. All the textures came back, but it lagged just like before. I turned the Extension limit back on keeping in mind what happened. I have also tried downloading and installing the latest 169.21 Nvidia driver. I inproved but it still lags to much. Does anyone out there have the same problem or have advice on the situation.
