8800GT can't install
Hi, my friend's been building his own PC and has run into a problem. He can't seem to get his monitor (Viewsonic 22inch VA2235WM Widescreen Black LCD Monitor) to detect his video card (Leadtek nVidia GeForce 8800GT GTB 512Mb PCI Express 2.0). He hasn't got the PC to run yet because the motherboard has no onboard video adapater. (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Socket 775 Motherboard )
I'm wondering what the problem is. Is it that the 8800GT won't run untill an operating system with barebones drives is booted? I asked him if he could install the drivers on another PC then switch the hard drive in, but the driver installation yields a "could not detect hardware" error. Kind of stumped as to what he can do without being able to get to the BIOS screen. Last edited by Erone; 03-29-2008 at 06:23 PM. |
