GPU Texture Rendering Problems
Specs:~
BFG 8600gts oc 256mb ddr3 4gb ram Python 580w psu Q6600 Quad Processor Vista Ok, i've had this problem for a while now, For example, Im running along in Crysis and while im running I can see rocks popping up a few feet infront of me which I didnt see from a distance, this was also happening on my previous system, another example is when I look into the distance the tree's look badly rendered and as I move closer the quality improves, it's actually more major than it sounds, it does this on mostly all games, one day I decided to replace the 8600gts with a 8600gs for a test and the problem persists!! so i changed back to my gts, I was thinking it was a gpu memory problem but now it's happening to my 8600gs too, it's very frustrating... any idea's?? thanks Last edited by Bizguit; 03-08-2008 at 11:43 PM. |

Re: GPU Texture Rendering Problems
The rocks popping up thing happened to me too. The weird thing is, one day the game was running really slow for me and I notice rather then the rocks popping up next to me, they slowly dissolved into the picture before I got there.
Also I had the problem where I would shoot the pickups but it would only leave bullet holes on the doors, but now the holes pop up anywhere I shoot it. If I knew how I fixed it I would tell you but it literally fixed itself one day, but the game in turn runs slower now. The demo however for me runs faster but the rocks do the popping up thing and the bullet hole problem. So when the rocks do get fixed somehow the game runs at least 7 or 8 fps slower. And I have no idea how I fixed it.

Re: GPU Texture Rendering Problems
Install the new 1.2 patch for Crysis. It fixes some graphics problems among other things. More details and download link here.
In the in-game graphics options, have you tried reducing the view distance or selecting the optimal settings?
