Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Installation Help..
Hello, I am in need of some support for my installation of a Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 PCIe 16x 512mb Graphics Card. I have a Dell Dimension E510 Desktop Computer. I removed the handle to the Card and placed the card into the correct PCI slot(x16) which I do have. But it doesn't fit into my computer. I have an assembly fan in the way that keeps it from fitting. Should I remove the fan? Or is this card not compatible with my system?
I know it sounds like a stupid question for you guys but I'm just no good with hardware installations. Can anyone help me out? ![]()

Re: Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Installation Help..
Okay thank you for patience and help.. here's what I have..
My Card http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P3080013.jpg My PC http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P3080014.jpg The Problem http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P3080015.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P3080016.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/P3080017.jpg Okay the issue as it stands is that I cannot get the card into the slot without the fan getting in the way. Any thoughts or suggestions? |

Yea your going to need to get a card that fits into a single slot. Clearly the pc designers didn't set it up for a dual slot cooled card. Any particular reason you got the fx4500?

Re: Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Installation Help..
The pc you got is a btx pc which , only dell , uses. Btx relies on that central fan for the system to move the air. And you can't remove that fan. The card is made for an atx computer where the cards fan wouldn't get in the way of anything. The only solution i could see is if you have a card that fit into a single slot.

Re: Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Installation Help..
It looks like all the nvidia fx cards have dual slot coolers. And I'm not really good with workstation cards, all I know about then is there not as fast as gaming cards but have larger amounts of ram. after looking around some the fx 3700 is a single slot workstation card that appears to be powerful.
