6600GT Card problem
Hi Guys,
I have a crashing issue when playing games. I bought a new Antec 500w powersupply today and it didnt help. i have disabled the soundcard and tried it still crashes. I have swapped the ram around, defragged, scan disked, updated all drivers. still happens. My pc temps are about 45c and 38c. I basically get 3 mins into playing and it will lock up forcing me to reboot... Any ideas? |

Re: 6600GT Card problem
I have direct x c.
I just noticed my Video card fan istn spinning, so its obviously over heating. Can i fix this and would this be the cause to my problems. Can i change any settings in bios for the fan to start working, like more voltage to the hardware>? I dont think its anything else apart from running games the pc works fine. Thanks mate |

Re: 6600GT Card problem
You have to open the case and have a look at the power connection.
Before you open the case: Get rid of static electricity by touching a radiator or bare metal on the computer case. Then unplug the computer from the wall outlet. You will, most likely, find a lot of dust inside - especially at the fans/heatsinks. Remove it with canned, compressed air. |

Re: 6600GT Card problem
It depends on what fan you choose - it might cost more than a new card.
![]() When/if you get a new video card you have to consider the PSU. The 6600GT "pulls" between 20-50 Watts. Don't get anything more demanding. http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=7&t=9354 |
