Stuffed 2 monitors and a v/card in 2 weeks
System:
6600gt AGP card Thermaltake 430W PSU GA-8IPE1000 M/Board Intel 2.8G processor Problem: Was given a 2nd hand Dell crt 19" monitor - made a high pitch sound when in standby mode so I turn it of fwhen not using the pc. Realised it wasnt in the best condition but it was better then my 17". Two weeks ago it would intermittently the screen would go black, and after a little moving around and checking stuff it would come back on. Last time it did this I gave the monitor a "love tap" on the side and it never went again (even on an old spare pc ) Simple I put my old 17" monitor on it - still no go. Had a mate lend me his 6600gt card - sweet all good.......for a few days. Now my 17" monitor says that it isnt pluged into the pc - same when put on my spare machine. THATS IT! Bit the bullet and just got a 22" LCD display :) However.......Im very concerned that there is somethig wrong inside the pc. It seems to coincidental that 2nd hand monitors and a G/Card all crap out in such a short space in time. ( even thought the 19" was suspect ) PSU isnt more that 2 years old and the g/card around that age also. Any ideas? |
