To SLI or not to SLI?
What would grant better performance?
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB 16X PCI Express OR 2x NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express Building a new PC soon and wondering if I should go with one super-high-powered card or a SLI of two lesser-powered cards? What's the pro's/cons of each? Not sure which option I should go with. |

Re: To SLI or not to SLI?
the Two 8800gt's will perform better under a higher amount of stress on the card. All you really need is one 8800gt, that should run any game out right now with no problem. the 8800GTX performs only a lil bit better than the 8800GT. You would save a good amount of money too.
You should buy 1 8800gt and when the new GeForce cards come out than the price of the 8800's will drop, than buy your 2ed card. |

Re: To SLI or not to SLI?
I would wait to buy a card at all until the 9000 series high-end cards come out, should be very soon. That way, if you want to buy a new card, you can, and if you still want an 8800gt, it will be much cheaper. However, I definitely agree with RateBuddha; the GTX is not worth the extra money, the GT is almost as good.
