Re: unable to start directx 3d acceleration

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX and your graphics driver?

Re: unable to start directx 3d acceleration

I too am having this problem and have uninstalled and reinstalled everything short of reformatting my hard drive. I dont know if it is a coincidence but the problem started after I installed Flight Simulator X.
The problem from DXDIAG is that my Video card memory is not being recognised. I would appreciate any help / suggestions

Re: unable to start directx 3d acceleration

OK HERE IT IS
right click on your screen; it pulls up display properties
go to settings
go to advanced
go to troubleshooting tab
move the hardware acceleration all the way to the right; it will say that all accelerations are enabled.

just for the fun of it enable the write combining too. I don't know if it controls anything and I don't care to check. Your computer will have to restart. Just let it.
