[SOLVED] Downgrading Video Card
I have two machines running XP that I want to swap the video card from each to the opposite one. One machine has a GeForce MX 420 and the other has a GeForce 7300 LE. I know it's okay to upgrade, say from the 420 to the 7300, but is it okay for the computer that's taking a downgrade of video card? The 7300 is the one that came with it, and the reason I'm switching is because I want to play games on the machine that's currently got the 420, since it has better everything else. The machine with a 7300 in it is not used for gaming, just general internet/email etc. Will there be any complications from swapping these out? I just want to make sure before I do this.
I gather the following strategy for changing video cards is as follows: Safe Mode -> Uninstall old drivers -> Take out/put in cards -> Boot up and install new card's drivers Am I right here? Thanks! |
