OS: XP Professional service pack 2


geforce 8600

i want to upgrade to a 8600 but i dont know if my motherboard could use it
Its a Msi k9n6sgm-v and i have a 480 watt power supply. I am really into games so i want to know a good video card that i can use.

Welcome to tsf. The motherboard should support the card fine. But I would like you to post the make and model of the psu and you might aswell post the rest of your specs. Cpu , ram , ect...

Amd Athlon 64 x2 4200+ (i think its around 2.2ghz)
Hydra Power supply model:lc- 480a
230gig sata hard drive
1 dual layer dvd drive
ps2 mouse and keyboard
and a pci modem

Yea thats definitely a no name psu, I would recommend you upgrade the psu aswell to a quality 450w or more. Something from antec or thermaltake should be good.
