Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

I am having a very similar problem with the same card but I have the AGP version of the card and not the PCIe. I also thought it was the power supply so I bought an Antec 550W. And of course had no luck. I tried to remove the drivers for my old card and then installing my new one, and nothing. No Input every time. My computer either meets, or exceeds everything that the card wants in the arena of CPU and memory so I have no idea. I also tried going into my BIOS to disable my onboard video but with no luck I am not sure what do do with that. I dont think my mobo even has an onboard video, I am replacing the AGP that came with it. Any other thoughts?

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

you have plugged the aux power plug into the m/board
if you reinsert your old card does it work normally
are all the fans running ok and just no screen
try a cmos reset

Yes, all the fans work and come on as advertised. I will look up how to do the cmos reset and see if that works...

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

try a cmos reset
reseat the ram you may have knocked it when fitting the card
boot with the ram out and see if you receive the bios error code because it is missing

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

From what I researched, to reset the cmos, I can just pull out the battery for a couple hours right? I dont know where my jumpers are.

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

there will be a diagram in your m/board manual they are usually next to the battery
turn off the computer
remove the power lead
remove the battery
move the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 and then back to pins 1 and 2
replace the battery
replace the power lead
boot the computer

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

Tried all three but it didnt work. I did get a bios error when booting up without the memory. It sounded like the national emergency broadcast system warning.

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

that's ok it would be a worry if you got no reaction to the ram being removed
try booting with only 1 stick of ram in and make sure it is seated don't rely on the clips clicking over it does not mean it is seated when they do

Re: Cant get ATI Radeon X1650 PRO, agp to work.

set it up out of the case where you can get a good look at everything with
video
ram cpu
speaker
and see if you get post
examine both sides of the m/board for any damage
check the capacitors for swelling or leaking
