Viewsonic VA720 LCD Monitor Power LED blinks no video output

I have my Viewsonic VA720 17" LCD monitor plugged into my working CPU but the power LED of the monitor blinks continously and the video screen is blank. I was wondering if I accidentally damaged the pins in the video cable connector. See attached. I thought there are supposed to be 15 pins but 2 are not there.

Welcome to tsf, have you tried another monitor on the pc or another pc on the monitor?

Yes, I've done that. The problem seems to lie with the ViewSonic monitor. I wanted to know if it is normal for the 2 pins in the plug to be missing: rightmost pin in top line, left second pin in bottom most line.

Yea it is normal for some vga pins to not be there, can you actually see the little ends where the pins should be?

Yes, the other pins are not sunken in. Oh well, I think that's the end of my monitor.

Looks like there are many other users of the VA720 having the same problem as I am.

If I leave the monitor switched on for say 10 minutes, the screen comes alive.

I'm having the same problem with my VA720 except it doesn't come on after 10 mins or length of time. I guess there's nothing to do but find a replacement monitor.
