Pci-e

I just bought a GeForce 8600 GTS and have now realized my computer doesn't have a PCI-E slot. I bought this new off Ebay btw.

So my question is, will I have to get a whole new mobo or is there another way? Also on the box it says for min requirements " One PCI Express supplementary Power connector or two available hard disk drive power connectors from the power supply that are connected to nothing else" what does this mean?

I don't know much about the insides of computers so please try to keep your fancy super nerd talk to a minimum

Re: Pci-e

What power supply do you have, you will also have to replace the motherboard to use the card if it does not have a pci express slot.

Re: Pci-e

I got it a while ago (maybe 4 years ), it says Proteva on the front. According to TMH's scan the CPU has a model of X86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9, Vendor Identifier- GenuineIntel, and processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66ghz

Any other information tell me what part of TMH's to look in and I will write it down.

Re: Pci-e

i Would recommend that you sell the card and buy an agp card and a new quallity power supply

If you wanted you could upgrade to use the card but that would involve a new cpu ram motherboard and power supply

this card will work with your system and an upgarded power supply
