Monitor lost resolution
Got a new dell computer. Hooked up Viewsonic VX2235wm monitor and it worked fine for a day but now resolution is out of whack. Monitor says it works best at 1680 x 1050 resolution, which I like, but it's not even an option when I go to control panel, settings, display. The slide bar shows 1400 x 1050 and then 1600 x 1200 (also 1900 x 1250), but all of these blur everything. How can I get my resolution back and where did it go? I tried going in and disabling the adapter, turned off and let it plug and play on reboot to find it, but still not right resolution. HELP!

Re: Monitor lost resolution
AHA, i got this yesterday at work and solved i think. LOL
Welcome to TSF! ![]() I am assuming this is an intel chipset. If you know your chipset then go and read then try this: [url] Check that your chipset is supported and i would suggest uninstalling the current intel graphics driver and restarting. Then install the new one in this link http://support.intel.com/support/gra.../CS-028366.htm and restart. If you don't know your chipset, please download PC Wizard from my sig and install. Then open it and go to FILE, SAVE AS and save the text file to your desktop. Then copy the text from that saved file into this thread. good luck

Re: Monitor lost resolution
Well, I tried it all, but no go. I uninstalled and went to the intel site. It looked like the fix I needed. When I downloaded the file from the intel site, it said my computer wasn't man enough to run it. Okay, well, not in those exact words, but more or less. I have a dell optiplex 210L. So, I'm still stuck. Any more ideas? Thanks for your time!

Re: Monitor lost resolution
Apparently this problem affects any OS, Even Linux isn't safe.
