EVGA GeForce 8600 GT hanging - normally with video games
Hi all,
Hoping I can tap into people who know hardware a bit deeper than I Do. I recently burnt out my old video card, and bought a EVGA e-GeForce 8600GT to replace it. Installed it fine, computer booted up, no issues. Can run anything 2d fine, but when I try to boot up games (I've tried WoW and Supreme Commander), the system hangs completely - no reaction from anything, keyboard, mouse (seems like the monitor froze). I am running Windows XP pro CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice MSI K8N Neo4-F I'm sure it's possible I did something stupid like buying a vid card that won't with my mobo, etc, but I haven't seen it yet. So if it's something like that, or if you have any suggustions on how to fix this, I'd love to hear them. Tom |

Re: EVGA GeForce 8600 GT hanging - normally with video games
To give a bit more information:
I can operate fine, save for the video games. When I attempt to load WoW, it gives me a blue screen with lots of text VERY quickly, then restarts the computer. On startup, it asks me to send a windows error report. |
