Disabling the on board display adapter

Hello,
I recently upgraded my video graphics card to play a "fisher price graphic art studio". I currently have on a on board VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP (K8M800) display adapter.
How do I disable so it does not over ride the newly installed GeForce 6200 256MB PCI Video Card. I tried doing that in my display manager, but it didn't work.
Thanks
Emily

Re: Disabling the on board display adapter

the m/b may auto disable on the insertion of a card
check in the bios if it can be disabled or not
then in the device manager disable it
shut down the computer
install the video card
switch the monitor cable from the onboard to the card
start the computer tapping f8 and from the boot options menu choose vga mode
when windows finishes booting
disable a/virus
install the video drivers for the card
reboot the computer

Re: Disabling the on board display adapter

Thanks for the reply. I looked in the bios and there was no video card to disable. I disable in the devise manager. I have antivirus through verizon and not sure if I can disable.

Re: Disabling the on board display adapter

if it's not installed on your computer it does not apply
i would not run a computer without a/v being installed on it

Re: Disabling the on board display adapter

the a/v is a built in and it works except for playing the fisher price game.
That's why I upgraded the video card.
