8800gts (g92) crash issues.

I've had my evga 8800gts for about 2 weeks now, replacing my old 7600gt (which worked fine), and i get *a lot* of issues with it.

It sometimes works fine and i canplay any game for hours without problems.. performance is excellent and the temps stay down below 70 by a good margin, but about half the times i boot up my pc the screen will either blank out or turn purple ( ? ) when loading windows, watching a movie, or playing a game (usually after about 2-3 mins) . this dosent happen every time, but i'm sure it isnt an issue with heat. Is this a driver or bios issue ?

spec . : cpu: e6850 3.00ghz stock - memory: 800mhz ocz platinum 2x1gb - mobo : evga 680i sli fsb 1333mhz stock - PSU 600w ocz gamexstream- gpu evga 8800gts 512 @stock clocks.

i'd really appreciate any help with this as it's a really annoying problem.. not software related either probably as i reinstalled xp last week.

Re: 8800gts (g92) crash issues.

thanks for thee suggestion, i'll try that when i get a chance... i think that the card is the problem as my previous cards on this system have worked fine, but do you think there's a chance of a driver issue or clash ?

Re: 8800gts (g92) crash issues.

if it were a driver you would expect to receive an error message pointing to it
i would not run an 800 on less than 650w,but i think it's most likely the card
