Leadtek 7600 AGP power connection

Hi I installed a 7600 GS card in an old Compac Presario with a 250 W psu.
That wasn't enough so I bought a 300 W booster. The problem is that the
booster has two 6 pin pci express connectors and the graphics card a molex. Can't find an adapter for this. Is it possible to make one?
Grateful for any advice.

Re: Leadtek 7600 AGP power connection

You can buy a splitter for a molex, just attach it on the hdd molex,
or the cdrom drive, or if you have a fan with a molex use the splitter
on that, not a big deal. Just hope you have enough power.

Re: Leadtek 7600 AGP power connection

I have free molex connectors,I tried connecting with one.But there was a program
"nvidia sentinel" that reduced the cards clockspeed because lack of power.
Thats why I bought the booster.

Re: Leadtek 7600 AGP power connection

Whats the min power requirement for the card? If your short on power
I would be glad that it throttled down, puts to much stress on other
parts. Probably is still.

Re: Leadtek 7600 AGP power connection

Minimum for the card is 300 W ,but leadtek support recomends 400 W.
So with the original psu and the booster I have 550W. The booster itself is capable of 25 A, 12 V only.So it should work fine if a can connect the power.I assume that the graphics card don't need 5 V, or?
Sorry for not replying earlier.
