ATI Radeon X1300 - Textures 'Spikey' or 'stretched', purple squares, Textures
Hi i have a problem when i play games AND movies...
it happens on all my games and BOTH of my computers. iv been at war with this graphics card for a year now ![]() googling for a week... my motherboard video card works great, but is slow or cant handle some of the games i play, (San andreas, css etc...) The Problem: ![]() ive tried underclocking same thing in movies purple squares. the card sometimes overheats (has a built in fan) i have a SHUTTLE XP - The best airflow computer in the world. ![]() it seems small but it overpowers the big tower blocks when it comes to cooling the inside. so it cant be overheating thats causing the problem. i have used my other gfx card which is installed in my other comp and that runes fine on this one too. im running on windows vista 32bit(this also happend on xp) 1 gig ram 3.20 GHz processor help plz? |

Re: ATI Radeon X1300 - Textures 'Spikey' or 'stretched', purple squares, Textures
Welcome to tsf. Please post your full system specs including the make model and wattage of the psu and the rest of the parts. Also please post your temps and voltages, download speedfan in my sig to view them.
This is more then likely that your gpu is overheating and may be damged from it. Despite being the worlds best small case the gpu can still overheat. Also your useing vista which would probly have driver issues with a x1300. Your sanandres also appears to be modded which could also contribute.

thanks for your reply,
Game is modded, yes, but that definantly is not the problem because it happens on all my games.(even non modded fresh installs) No idea how to use speedfan and ive already told you my system specs. The only thing thats hot in there is the fan on the card i cant find how i can find my full system specs on vista or find anything out really... need help on that

Re: ATI Radeon X1300 - Textures 'Spikey' or 'stretched', purple squares, Textures
Go to this link and download speed fan and install
http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php The link is right in the download paragraph. Once you have it installed simply open it and it will display your voltages and temperatures. Also we need to know the make model and wattage of the psu. If you are unsure of it , there will be a sticker directly on the side of the psu that will state it. This is most likely a overheating issue and the card may be damaged from it. Simply replaceing the card would most likely fix it. But you may also need to upgrade your psu. Also I think you would see greater performance if you perhaps switched your pc to xp. It would definitely run faster and show better performance in games.

Your 12v is down a bit and the video appears to be over 50c which is about 120f.
First I'll say download the latest drivers for the video card at ati's website. And the latest catalyst too. I that doesn't work try a bios update as well. Also try cleaning the dust out of the case. If that still doesn't do it then I'd say its time for a new video card.

BIOS updating is very safe. These days even if your PC somehow lost power during the update it is still good. BIOS updates are always recommended. |

Does it work? If not then We'll need the make and model of the motherboard to update the bios. Also please check the make and model and what wattage your powersupply is, it will say right on the sticker on the side of the powersupply. Post back with your motherboard and psu info

Please download PC Wizard and install (in my sig). Then open it and go to FILE, SAVE AS, and save the text file to your desktop. Copy the contents of that file to this thread.
That seems to be a classic overheating problem to be honest. You have a shuttle, which being a compact and small form factor, means you probably will suffer from heating issues. When you got rid of dust, did you use a can of compressed air (available from pc stores)? Post specs please.
