Compaq Presario SR5030NX has 250 W power supply. I seriously tried to educate myself regarding video card choice (for occasional gaming) but too much info. Looking for a card that will work with the P/S and VISTA. Notice that many say "Certified for VISTA" but also read that that does not guarantee that it will work. Considered putting in bigger P/S, stumbled across the term "proprietary" on the web (do not know what that means). Asked HP if the P/S in my PC was proprietary & the POC did not understand the question.

Re: Request suggestion re choice of video card
With a 250w PSU, I'm guessing that your motherboard is still the same. In other words, it's likely you don't have a PCI-Express slot, correct?
And what's your price range. |

Re: Request suggestion re choice of video card
Definitely yes, but you did say you were most likely going to upgrade. Besides, you won't find a "decent" card that will run on 250w psu. In other words, you have to upgrade your psu.
