Re: Knight Online
If your motherboard uses the Intel 82915G/82910GL Express Chipset, update to the latest Intel graphics driver, then reboot and try the game again.

Re: Knight Online
I could'nt download the first 2 updates because I had a message saying that the system did not fit. But download the last one. Only thing is I still have the same problem. I still keep getting the same message.
Maybe if you give me a link to download a program to see what kind of motherboard I have and other usefull information, it could help find the problem. |

Everest. Go to Motherboard > Motherboard to see the model name.

Re: Knight Online
I'm useing Intel Rexburg D845GRG.
I was digging around in the Everest software and clicked on the DirectX Video. And found the ialmrn5.dll hardware (which I think is the problem). Do I need to update my directx? Also when I scrolled down, at the bottom there was a problem and it says: Hardware Transform & Lighting is not supported. Modern 3D games may require it. Re: Knight Online
If it's saying your integrated Intel graphics system doesn't support Hardware T&L, then you won't be able to play Knight Online.

Re: Knight Online
Thats not possible my computer can support the game but I think my directx is out of date. Since the game requires you to have directx 8 or higher.
Can you give me a link to the latest directx or something thats higher then directx 8 please. Last edited by flare; 12-16-2007 at 11:23 AM. |

Re: Knight Online
Ok I see. I opened my pc and where there was suppose to be a graphics card there was none.
But do all computers have a graphics card? I have 2 pcs and on one the game can play but not on this. I opened my other pc to get the graphics card and switch it but I could'nt find it. The only place I know where it is at is near the PCI slots. Last edited by flare; 12-16-2007 at 02:11 PM. |

Re: Knight Online
Yes, if you want to play any games that require a 3D card with DirectX support, you will need to install one.
There are different kinds of graphics cards available for different motherboards. Not all will be suitable for your computer. What motherboard do you have, and what graphics slots (PCI, AGP or PCI-e)?

Re: Knight Online
Not all computers have a graphics card. Some like yours use onboard or integrated graphics, which is a chip on the motherboard.
PCI slots are used for various types of card, like graphics, sound, TV, etc. For graphics cards they are very slow and out of date. The most recent motherboards have PCI-e (PCI-Express) slots which are just for graphics cards and are much faster than the old PCI. The AGP slot is also only for graphics cards and is about as fast as PCI-Express. This is the one you want to use. What's your price limit? Adding a new graphics card will increase your system's power requirements, so you will need a good quality Power Supply Unit (PSU) otherwise your computer will overheat and crash or display artifacts when playing games. Switch off the computer, open the case and look for the PSU (big box, top rear, with the power cable plugged into it). There will be a label on it similar to the pic below. Post back with the make/model, total watts and the amps for +12V.

Re: Knight Online
I don't know if this will help but I looked at the label and it looked different and I dont know what any of the stuff is but here is what i wrote down.
Output +5V 8.5A -12V / 0.8A + 12V 8.5A + 3.3v / 14.0A + 5VS8 1.7A I belive that total watts is 160 Also if this information is needed I don't know: Max compined power on +5V, +12V and +3.3V output is 160W Model is : NPS 160CB - 1 A Also I found out that my card needs AGP (which is the brown cover thing right)? Price range from 30-50 USD |

Re: Knight Online
Yes, the AGP slot is the brown one. It's shorter than the other PCI slots beside it.
These 2 AGP cards are in your price range and are good for gaming, but AGP cards need a PSU with at least 18 amps on the +12V line. Your PSU only has 8.5 amps, so you'd need to upgrade the PSU at the same time as the card. HIS Radeon 9550 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X - $40 PNY GeForce FX 5200 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X - $50

Re: Knight Online
Enter your full system specs into this power calculator and set Capacitor Aging to 25%. Click the Calculate button, then add 30% to the total to allow for PSU inefficiency. This number will tell you how powerful the new PSU needs to be. You can get your system specs by looking in Everest.
To give you an idea of price, a good quality 400W will be about $70 and a 500W $90. Examples: SeaSonic 400W (+12V=34A) - $66 SeaSonic 500W (+12V=34A) - $75 To fit a new PSU, turn off and unplug the power. Open the case and make a note of where the cables from the PSU attach to on the motherboard and drives, then undo the 4 screws holding it in place. Touch the metal case to remove any static that could cause damage. Take out the old PSU and put in the new one. Attach all the cables, making sure not to knock anything inside the case, then reboot. EDIT: I'll move this thread over to the Hardware forum.
