7600GS 256MB (AGP) becoming crappy?
I bought an XFX nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256MB (AGP) card in May and it was fine then. Ran the games easily enough and did the job. However! some games did not run too well. Call of Duty 2 ran absolutely phenomenal in DirectX 7 setting yet at DirectX 9 setting, it slowed down! And recently, FIFA 08, which ran really great has slowed down too and don't get me started on Need For Speed: ProStreet. At Systemrequirementslab.com, it says I can ran these games easily, yet they don't run well! Is it because i've added more cards and devices to my computer AFTER the video card and they're eating up resources?
I really don't want to a new card. This card has worked fine until recently (well other than the Call of Duty 2 DirectX 9 issue). So, here's two questions: Isn't the 7600GS a DirectX 9.0c card? yet why can't it run Call of Duty 2 at DirectX 9 setting smoothly? And Is it my computer that's eating up resources and the video card is not receiving sufficient power that's slowing these games down? |

Re: 7600GS 256MB (AGP) becoming crappy?
Try running this driver cleaner. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Securit...-Cleaner.shtml
Now do a clean install of the new driver.
