Connecting TV to VGA out on Fujitsu Siemens

Hi, I have recently bought a LCD tv (Samsung LA32R81WD) and would like to use it as an external monitor for my laptop (making use of the VGA out and VGA in). By the way the vga out has worked previously (on a crt monitor).

The problem: The TV doesn't recognise that there is a signal coming down the cable. Either the laptop doesn't agree with the TV or the visa versa.

My laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO L7310W. (it doesn't have s-video out).

The video driver is:
S3G UniChrome Pro IGP
Date: 15.08.2005
Version: 6.14.10.249

I would like to know if I can use some of the newer drivers to try and fix my problem, ie those that came with the newer Fujitsu siemens laptops, or would that be incompatible.
