Pin Geforce 6600 Grafix card fault!!

This is a little technical issue:
i got my system in august '05 system specs:
ASUS:k8s-mx motherboard {chipset SIS 760; southbridge SIS 965; LPCIO:W83627EHF)}
Nvidia geforce :6600 256mb AGP 8X:
1.5gb ddr400 ram {(dual channel)1gb 1-slot; (single channel)512mb-2nd slot)
AMD athlon 64 3000+ processor
last time i got my grafix card failed 2months ago (BIG geforce nvidia 6600)
The problem was i got garbage lines (ARTIFACTS) on the screen and soon the card stopped giving signal to monitor while just surfing internet.Thereafter the boot screen (mbo and bios logo after resetin cpu) comes up (the screen has Artifacts vertical and garbage lines and some codes interference on vdu ) but as the windows goes to start again signal to monitor stops.
i returned the grafix card to the retailer and he got it replaced.
To my bad luck yesterday the new grafix card(used only 1 month) met with same fate and it stopped working exactly the same way as previous.
I am using proper power supply under +optimal temperature conditions maintained all electrostatic discharge safety while installing the grafix card.No overclocking to Grafix card has been done nor any other physical damages to micro controller and video bios is done).
now im using the on board VGA which really SUx:P
Plz any 1 of u who has sufficient technical know about wat could be the possible reasons for failures of repeatedly 2 grafix card exactly the same way because i dont think the company wud be replacing this grafix card for second time and i dont risk buying a new grafix card on and older agp 8x bus.
Note :this problem has nothing to do with drivers or software as no fiddling with software is done and the grafix card is showing same behaviour on all computers.

I just know the possible reason or similar experiences from u: thanks

Re: Geforce 6600 Grafix card fault!!

Howdy conty911 and welcome to the Forums...

A long time ago I had an ATI 9800 all in wonder do exactly what has happened to you.. 2 cards same result., I found out I had a little piece of scrap metal from a screw or something inside my agp slot.. I would get some compressed air and give it a good blow..It helped me.. And if your card is still under warranty they have no choice but to send you a new one.
