Cry Issues with Radeon 9800 Pro

I just recently updated mt ATI Graphics drivers, and at the same time accidentally updated Directx as well, going from 9.0c to 10 not realizing that my card doesn't support it. Since the update every time I start a game and anything that needs Direct3D or 3d acceleration to run, I get an error message saying "X was unable to start up 3D acceleration. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c is installed and your video drivers are up-to-date." Now, to try and remedy the issue, I attempted to downgrade my drivers and DirectX, and the only thing that will down grade is the graphics drivers. Does anyone know a way to remove DirectX so that I can reinstall it?

side note: I also went into the DirectX Diagnostic tool and tested Direct3D and it errored out every time, but DirectDraw works just fine. SOOOO confused...
