Weird crash problem
Hi, I'm new to this forum but I've been experiencing a problem recently and thought I could get some advice, I've checked all over the web but haven't found a solution for my problem yet.
I'm currently using an ATI Radeon 9550 128mb - AGP 4x. I've been using really outdated drivers for a while now (4.1 infact) but I can't run the latest games with it because it causes some terrible graphic anomalies. Because of this I decided it was time to update my drivers, I downloaded this latest graphics drivers for my card (7.10), Uninstalled my old video card graphics, rebooted into safe mode, ran Driver Cleaner Pro and wiped all traces of my video drivers then rebooted and Installed the latest drivers. Now it was all running great until 10-15 minutes into my gameplay when the screen went black, the computer was still running but I couldn't see anything (I could still hear the game sounds though). All I could do to sort it out was press the power button on my PC to reset the whole thing. That process repeated for the next hour or so, I got a bit fed up and undid the entire process thinking it was the graphics drivers that were the problem but I was wrong. When I reinstalled the 4.1 drivers (After fully wiping my system of the 7.10 drivers ofcourse) the black screens still appeared while doing anything video card related. At that point I was a bit confused about what was the problem because nothing had changed since the black screens started except the driver change. That's pretty much all that's happened so far, if you need anymore info please ask and I shall provide as much and as best as I can. Any suggestions welcome :). |
