Nvidia Driver Issue? No Video
Alright, here's the problem. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 with an NVidia 6800 GTX. I recently upgraded to the latest non-beta drivers, 163 I believe. Everything was great, grabbed a nice game - Timeshift (DONT WORRY, Not a video game error), I get nothing, doesn't come up. I go forum hunting and I see "Get rivatuner! Use 'default settings'". Lots of people said it worked, so I grabbed it, installed it, and went to default settings. Didn't restart - instead I went right to Timeshift, same problem. THEN I restarted, and everything is cool. I get my one beep, post starts, then - tragedy!
So I see the first part of POST - but I don't see the second part of it. May be a little confusing, but I had part one where is did a memory test, which passes all the time. Also, on that same part, it checks my drives which include just an HDD and a DVD/CD-Rom. However, I usually get a second part of POST which shows (not exactly sure, didn't pay enough attention when I could see it) what looks like a list of other hardware. It's not just that I can't see the second part of POST, I can't see anything past it. Here's what I've tried. I've tried pressing F8 to go into safe mode, but I see nothing past POST, and consequently, I can't see / make it load into safe mode. I've tried a known working monitor - in fact, my monitor is new! I've tried a new Video card. Help would be appreciated! PS. There are four other PC's in the household, so if there's something I can do on one of them/to one of them to help, it can be done. |
