video crash?
I am using a hp zd8110us with ati mobility radeon x600 video card the motherboard is a 374709-001 and im running windows xp media center edition. Directx 9.0c and all windows updates. I have searched driversguid, hp, and ati, all of which offer drivers but not solving my problem. If I boot normally my screen stays black forever and eventually will flash with colored boxes on the lower half of the screen. Then my arrow will come up and that is where it stays. If I restart it enough it will come up normally after a long boot process. Runs in safe mode just fine. It is not a spyware, virus issue due to the fact that I just reloaded my os. If I boot into safe mode and uninstall video driver then restart normally, Works like a charm. XP picks up the device and loads the driver after a restart back to same issue. The computer will only run if the video driver is uninstalled. Is this a driver issue or do I need new video? And if I need new video is it possible to replace the video on 374709-001 or do I have to buy the whole motherboard? Thanks for help in advance.
