First time GPU O/Cing, XFX 8600 GT
Hi there! I just recently bought a rig (needed one quick, my old one was falling apart on me) and got the NVidia 8600 GT for a graphics card. Unfortunately in my haste I soon realized that it did not quite live up to my expectations and as such I have decided that I really need to O/C this thing to satisfy my hunger for 1337 gr4ph1x.
The thing is, I haven't the first clue on how to overclock. I do have RivaTuner and I'll be getting ATITool in a few minutes, and I did read somewhere about increasing certain clock speeds, but tbh I don't really know much more than that. Can someone walk me through GPU O/C'ing if they'd be so kind? And what would a safe temp be for an O/Ced graphics card? How do I even monitor GPU temps? Specs: Windows XP SP2 XFX 8600 GT on ForceWare 169.04 beta drivers (best drivers ever) Intel C2D E6550 @ Stock 2.33 GHz eVGA 650i Ultra on 8.43 drivers Thanks! |
