Re: Best Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127303 is also a pretty good card. 512 Gddr4. depends what res, though. ATI normally perform better at a higher res then nvidia, but if its regular ~1024 res then go with the nvidia. 1920, go with ATI

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161060 is better then both BUT no dx10

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133186 again, no dx10 but still a very good card. you can run vista without a dx10 card (i am), it just that you cant run games in dx10. dx10 isnt that popular yet, so you might want to go for a dx9 card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150197 is also quite a good card

Re: Best Video Card

the GTS is better because of a higher core and memory speed. your using XP at the moment, so you might want to stick with direct x 10. dx 9 cards are very cheap at the moment

Re: Best Video Card

no but the unifide shaders on the 8xxx cards will help in newer games while the highend 7xxx willl do just as well at max in older games

Re: Best Video Card

not much. it will just a bit due to the unified shader, but the dx9 cards are better and make up the difference and then some. use http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html to look at what you want. it is very handy
