OS: xp media centre
|
just had to have a total re-build of my media centre.
As a PC it is working fine - I have it hooked up a Sony Bravia 40' KDL 40v2000 LCD via Dvi/hdmi. But this is where it gets weird. If specify the 'Sony TV' option on the Nvidia geforce 8600 gt card - there is NO sound. TEST 1: If I specify the spare TV/monitor Relysis 1720. I get a picture and SOUND! (which comes thru the Sony TV speakers). TEST 2: Yes, I have swapped the connections round on the back - still the same. TEST 3: I have even tried to have them cloned - ie.picture on both, thinking the sound would come thru.... non. TEST 4: However if I hook up some old pc speakers... works fine! TEST 5: The sony tv speakers even work fine if I connect them to the laptop and play itunes thru them!! so, I can only guess that the sound and speakers are fine from all the tests, but the card is knocking out the sound... suggestions would be great. |
