Problems with computer text display: please help
L.S.,
I seem to have a strange problem... My icons are not displaying correctly (see desktop and quicklaunchbar) and text is displaying strange (see desktop and Firefox-image). Any clue what might be caussing this?

Looks like a borked icon cache. Visit www.microsoft.com and download the TweakUI PowerToy. it has a tool that lets you rebuild the icon cache from scratch.

@ ebackhus: downloaded and did the repair icon cache, which worked like a charm!
One problem still remains: the text display. It looks like it got anti-alias now switched on...

Go to Control Panel > Display > Appearance tab > Effects button. Check the 'smooth edge of screen fonts' option. Try the ClearType and Standard settings to see which you prefer.

Problem solved... For some reason the resolution if my screen was changed without me knowing/noticing... But setting it straight solved it...
