Nvidia 6800 GT graphics card / wide screen.

I have had to reinstall my pc completely after formatting my hard drive - reason was to remove old win2000 second installation which I did not want anymore. Before the installation, when running on Win XP SP2 I had various games running using as my display an Acer AL1916W wide screen LCD unit. These games, Settlers, Heritage of Kings / Hitman 2 / Ghost Recon, etc. were all running satisfactory and displaying correctly.

However, since the format & re-install when I try to run these games, it gets past the splash screen and then stops. After that I get a message that my nd3d driver is not working, or my screen goes blank and displays the "no input detected" message or win just reboots - there is no pattern between these 2 its certainly random. I have reinstalled my graphics drivers a number of times now with no luck, downloaded the latest and installed that, reinstalled the original drivers that came with the card, etc.

Any ideas...? Any help will be appreciated.

Install motherboard drivers. Should be on the disk that came with
board.

Thanks Manic,
Now the next question - I do not have motherboard drivers, this pc was built up using parts from a couple of other pc's. How do I find these drivers? The only info I have on the motherboard is what can be seen from control panel.

That is a P4 1.7 ghz machine...

Regards

Re: Nvidia 6800 GT graphics card / wide screen.

Download a program like everest, its free. Then find the name and
model of mobo, go to makers website and download chipset drivers.
Everest will tell you alot about mobo, etc,,,

Normally the model is silkscreened onto the board. Look in-between the PCI slots.
