Video Card help for DELL

Hi guys, I wish to upgrade my video card.

I currently have a 128MB X16 ATI radeon Half-height card because I have a dell C521.

Now I need a half height card again possibly.

What I'm looking for is a 256MB card compatible with my dell C521 half-height.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a card 256MB which has a better performance than my current ATI Radeon 128MB.

Now after my memory upgrade I will only have £80 ($162.735 USD) to spare so I dont know if any 256MB Half heights are that cheap.

But please can anyone point me to the cheapest compatible card.

Regards, Shaun.

Re: Video Card help for DELL

If you do find a half height card you will have to consider your
power supply capability. Dell is famous for underpowering.

Hello,

This is Richard from Dell's Online Community Outreach group. There is a Low Profile card for your computer that meets your requirements. It is an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, PCI-e X16 with 256MB.

Since you are not in the US I can not properly provide you the cost for the upgrade card. However, I can provide you the website for Dell Europe, which will provide you more information.

Best of luck,

Richard B

Re: Video Card help for DELL

Thanks, but can I just ask why are the cards compatible with my PC more expensive than other ones?

The Dell marketing machine. Just search for half-height PCi-Express cards on your favorite PC hardware site.
