[SOLVED] video card driver doesn't install ???

hi folks, howzitgoin?

it seems my video card driver doesn't want to install - the card is an nVidia 7900GS for a dual monitor setup; my pc is running XPpro+sp2 with an amd dual core cpu.

the install problem occurs on an existing harddrive that has been quick reformatted for a copy of XPpro+sp2, the 'new' XPpro+sp2 install seems to be running fine but isn't accepting the nvidia software (i tried installing v91.31 and also v83.62 but they seem not to 'take' i.e. after re-booting to that install i'm not seeing any evidence of the nvidia software just subequently installed).

the monitors are displaying the desktop BUT i can't configure them seperately (like you should be able to!).

fyi - the video card and dual monitors are working fine when i boot from another different harddrive with XPpro+sp2 installed there.

any ideas/suggestions/questions greatly appreciated.

Install this driver in VGA mode with anti-virus turned off.
