"Stuttering" problem
My desktop PC recently acquired a problem. Whenever I run any program that produces video or audio, there is a "stutter" every second or so. The video and audio pause briefly, with the audio producing a stuttering effect. This is true for streaming media, video/audio files, or any other program that produces video (I downloaded and tested a game demo that uses DirectX, and it produces the same problem). This problem started all of a sudden, with no such problem happening before.
Computer specs: Windows XP Home Edition, SP2 AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2800+ 1.80 GHz, 448 MB DDR SDRAM Motherboard: K8M800-M2 Chipset: VIA K8M800 Sound, video and game controllers: * Audio Codecs * Legacy Audio Drivers * Legacy Video Capture Devices * Media Control Devices * Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA Audio Controller * Unimodem Full-Duplex Audio Device * Video Codecs I do not know what other information may be relevant. Could someone please help me troubleshoot the problem? Thank you. |
