[SOLVED] Problems Watching Movies

I just uploaded a genuine version of Windows XP on my computer and I haven't been able to watch the free online Netflix movies anymore. I have the latest version of Media Player, but the movie loads fine and the sound is fine. There are streaks through the movie and I can't see a thing. Please help!

Re: Problems Watching Movies

Check you have video drivers installed, u usually will get pink stripes down the videos if you haven't got the correct drivers installed.

Try downloading this
http://www.warp2search.net/k-lite-co...-0-s31972.html

That should fix it as i have had problems in the past.

Phil.

Re: Problems Watching Movies

If it's not a codec problem, it could be either a corrupt graphics driver or an incorrect setting in Media Player.

Go to Start > Run and type dxdiag, click OK. Click the Display tab in the window that opens and post back with the details listed for Device (Name and Manufacturer) and for Drivers (Main Driver and Version)

Open Media Player and go to Tools > Options > Performance tab > Advanced button. Which boxes do not have checkmarks in them?

Do you download the videos to your hard drive and then watch in Media Player or do you watch them on the website? Which browser are you using?

Re: Problems Watching Movies

It's not allowing me to take screenshots of this malfunction. Every time I try, it shows up blank.

I watch movies on the Netflix website and I have to use the Explorer browser for this program.

To take screenshots from Windows Media Player, open Media Player and go to Tools > Options > Performance Tab > Advanced button. Uncheck 'Use Overlays’ and click OK. If it still doesn't take a screenshot, reduce the Video Acceleration from Full to None and try again.

Re: Problems Watching Movies

Go to Performance > Video Acceleration and put checkmarks in the 'Use high quality mode' and 'Turn on DirectX video acceleration' boxes.

Your graphics device is onboard (SiS 315) using 32mb of system RAM rather than being a plugin card with its own dedicated memory. The driver you have looks to be out of date, v5.13 Aug2001. Try updating to the most recent one I can find, v3.51a Sept2003.
