Graphics Card Equivelent?
Hello, the current graphics card i have on my computer is Intel Graphic's Media Accelerator 950, I was wondering, what would be the equivelent to this graphic card in NVIDIA's Geforce Cards.
Or may you just tell me, if this Graphic Card is average for gaming, the game i want to play is Warrock and the specs are: CPU Pentium 3, 800 Mhz Pentium 4, 2.0 Ghz RAM 512 MB or better 512 MB or better Graphics Radeon 8500LE, Geforce MX400 or better FX5700 / ATI 9200 OS Windows ME / 2000 / XP Windows 2000 / XP ISP DSL Cable / T1 Network Card 10 Mbps 100 Mbps / 1000 Mbps I meet all of these requirements, except that im Windows Vista, and the graphic card ( Which i'm hoping you can help me with) Thanks, TechHelp24

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
The Intel Graphic's Media Accelerator 950 is rather low end - it doesn't support hardware geometry processing, basic (DX7) hardware transform and lighting, or more advanced vertex shaders (DX8 and later).
The game won't run with the integrated graphics and, AFAIK, there are no expansion slots for graphics in the computer. |

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
Okay, Thanks a lot, but let's say if I wanted to buy a cheap graphic card let's say in the Nvidia Geforce 6000's Series, to install it, would I have to take apart my laptop and etc.

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
The GPU is integrated in the chipset and it doesn't look like there's any expansion slot for graphics: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...el=3&tab=specs
So - no, you can't upgrade the graphics without switching system board. |

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
Generally, what would you say in comparison, my graphic card would be to an nvidia geforce series,? im just much more experienced in the nvidia section, not the intel-(this is my first time getting an intel graphic card.)

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
You can only upgrade laptop graphics if it came with a dedicated graphics card and it used the MXM Standard. Your laptop does not qualify as either unfortunately.
Its hard to say because the GMA950 has shaders but lacks (To my knowledge) Hardware T&L. I would say its about as good as a GeForce Go FX5100 or maybe a GeForce Go FX5200.

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
I am not too familiar with that game so I cannot accurately say. I can tell you however that it will play CS:1.6 and CS:CZ very well.

Re: Graphics Card Equivelent?
Yep. Likely not CS:S though. You're welcome.
