Video scrambled

Hello all,
I am new to this forum and have a question. I just recieved my new motherboard/cpu combo and pci-e video card. installed everything and when the system boots up the video is all scrambled and I never get a clean signal. If I remove the video card and use the onboard video there is no problems. Prior to installing the video card I went into the bios and changed the video from onboard vga to pci-e. I am hoping that it is just a bad card. Is there a way for me to test the PCI-e slot? here are my setup specs:
ABIT IP-95 mobo
Intel pentium d 925 2.8ghz
1 gig corsair ddr memory
550w chiefmax powersupply(24 pin)
DVD/RW+-
80 Gig WD hd
Soundblaster soundcard

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

Re: Video scrambled

What video card is it exactly? Considering your on-board works fine, it may be a bad card. If you can borrow a card from a friend to test that would help as well.

Also make sure your drives are updated.

Re: Video scrambled

It is a Nvidia Gforce 7300 GS. I have the latest drivers installed for the mobo. I am unable to install the drivers for the videocard as I can't see anything.

Re: Video scrambled

I would get another card from somebody and test that. If it works fine, then you have a bad card.
